WENDY RAY
Billing Manager
"No matter what is happening in my life, when I walk through your door everything fades away and I can breathe again."
Maya student
Wendy grew up in Kirkland where she raised her two children Amanda and Tyler, who still live there today. With a deep love for the mountains and appreciation for nature’s artistry, Wendy moved to Issaquah in 2015 where she gazes upon Squak and Tiger Mountains through her windows, enjoying sunrises and sunsets that take her breath away. If given the opportunity, she’d invite John Lennon over for tea to discuss the state of the world and maybe write a song about it, maybe start a movement. Wendy feeds her Washington roots and surrounds herself with family treasures that include her cat Max, and her mom, who inspires her every day.
Wendy started at Maya as a licensed esthetician immediately after graduating from the Euro Institute of Skincare in 2010. Throughout the years, she has worn many hats including esthetician, front desk reception, studio coordinator and currently manager of insurance and billing. Wendy truly keeps Maya running. Today, Wendy serves as Billing Manager “because the need was there. I have seen our massage therapists and doctors help so many people over the years (myself included) that I agreed to help restructure our insurance billing system to make it financially viable for Maya to continue billing insurance for clients that require it to receive the care they need.”
When Wendy isn’t working her magic at Maya, she can be found doing something new and exciting, or nothing at all. As long as she wants to be there, she’s there. Perhaps you’ll run into her while shopping for tattoos, dining on liver and onions, or at a Seahawks game. Or, maybe she’s admiring the Harley parked outside; ask her about the trophies she won in her youth while perched atop a motorcycle, competing in trials.
Equating herself to her sun sign’s mascot, she’s a lion at heart. She can be very demanding and self absorbed yet extremely caring and fiercely protective if someone is being wronged. Injustice touches her deeply and if she had her way, she’d be a super hero fighting it every day.
